The Biblical book, The Song of Solomon, has long been considered one of the most passionate portions of Scripture. Renita J. Weems has taken the principles from this book and written What Matters Most, to help women focus on our passions and on how to achieve our goals and dreams.

A chapter covers each of ten lessons: The Self, Identity, Truth, Balance, Choices, Inner Wisdom, Danger, Your Body, Sacrifice, and Sex and Love. The author relates modern day anecdotes and compares them to the experiences of the Shulammite woman in The Song of Solomon, making the Bible more real for today's readers. Chapters end with 'reflections', including study questions to further explore each principle and think about how it can be incorporated into the reader's life.

This book is an intimate reflection on God's will for the reader. The author is uplifting and encouraging. She weaves straightforward thinking and Bible passages together with the push to dream and to confront fears. Though a small book, it's powerful and easy to understand, ideal for personal devotion. I encourage women to use What Matters Most to help 'discover who you are inside.'
