Triplets Lyn, Gemma, and Cat Kettle are physically similar but different in temperaments, thanks to individual life experiences. A highly organized and successful businesswoman, Lyn still feels guilty for having stolen her adoring husband from his first wife. Happy-go-lucky Gemma likes nothing better than to flit from relationship to relationship, not admitting even to herself hidden and ugly motivations. But it is Cat, with her fiery temper, jealousy and pain, who's the pivot on which this story revolves.

Thanks to biology, the Kettles are very similar in looks and attitude all tall and beautiful Aussie women - but they have vastly different personalities. The author meshes past and present beautifully to reveal how the sisters' shared history had widely differing influence on their growing minds, resulting in women with individual personalities. Cat's world is thrown abruptly into chaos when a chance remark causes her loving husband to casually admit to having had an affair. This confession comes at a time when Cat's desperately trying to get pregnant. This strong, ever-in-control woman is devastated. Her jealous rages, her fits of violence, unbearable pain and erratic behavior affect all three Kettle sisters equally. When past betrayals come to light, can their sisterly relationship survive the turmoil that ensues?

While their natural closeness is enviable, it creates unique problems for them. In their thirty-third year of existence, everything comes to a climax as their sibling bonds are tested to the utmost after betrayals are revealed. Each sister is compelled to starkly reevaluate her own life, motivations and priorities. Moriarty tells this complex, realistic tale from various viewpoints, spices it up with witty remarks, hilarious incidents and engaging characters, and in short, keeps readers captivated.
