My Dad    by Anthony Browne Order:  USA  Can Farrar Straus & Giroux, 2004 (2004) Hardcover     Reviewed by Hilary Williamson This little board book celebrates a rather silly looking dad, whose child says - despite all the pictorial goofiness - 'He's all right, my dad', sharing a perspective on each and every one of dad's amazing abilities. We learn that this superdad fears nothing (even the Big Bad Wolf), can jump over the moon just like the cow, and walk a tightrope clothes line. He can 'eat like a horse' and 'swim like a fish', and he's happy as a hippo. Personally, my favorite is the 'wise as an owl' illustration, owl head, old brown bathrobe and all. With such amazing talents, it's no wonder this little one tells us 'I love my dad.' My Dad warms the heart and is sure to be a bedtime favorite with kids, dads and grandads everywhere.
