I know, I know. It's hard to fix a good breakfast when your world is running by you so fast. A smoothie, a bagel smeared with cream cheese, a latte, or maybe a piece of dry toast is all you have time for. But maybe if you tried some Breakfast recipes, you'd get up a few minutes earlier to fix a healthy, nutritious, well-balanced - but best of all, delicious - meal. Or as you gulp that coffee with extra cream on a Monday morning, rouse up enthusiasm for a full breakfast over the weekend. And, believe me, you'll keep these recipes in mind the whole week.

The superb photographs show what to expect – gorgeous food with a minimum of effort. The Swedish Pancake stuffed with country ham and topped with lingonberry preserves convinced me. French Toast made from sourdough bread, drenched with pure maple syrup and dusted with grated orange zest, came in a close second. I like eggs of all kinds. Souffléed Omelet with Fines Herbes is on my menu for Sunday breakfast after church. Or I might decide on Asparagus and Gruyere Omelet. But then Chicken Sausage Sun-Dried Tomato and Zucchini Fritatta looks scrumptious too.

Great ideas for potatoes are included, as are other side dishes such as Citrus, Strawberry, and Pomegrante Salad and Roasted Tomatoes. Breads have their own section - one I'm tempted to work my way through, one recipe at a time. Last but not least, Sunday Brunch is presented with mouthwatering recipes for, among others, Cherry-Cheese Blintzes, Wild Mushroom Quiche, Goat Cheese and Spanish Ham Soufflé, and (are you ready for it?) Prune and Armagnac Clafoutis.

Williams-Sonoma Collection's Breakfast makes an excellent addition to your cookbook library. It's attractive enough to use as a coffee table book, to show that special someone how much he/she means to you, or as a great gift for the newly wed or the wannabe chef.
