All I Want is Everything is the third in the effervescent Gossip Girl series, and it's just as good as either of its predecessors. It's coming up to mid-terms and the twelve day Christmas holidays (to be spent in fabulous St. Barts by some). Blair and Serena are best friends again; Blair's ex-boyfriend Nate and big-bosomed young Jenny are an item; artsy outsiders Dan and Vanessa are more than friends; and would Aaron like to get closer to his stepsister?

Though many of the characters are silly and shallow and too rich for their own good, they're also young and very human. This episode is all about angst - Dan wonders if sex might cure his writer's block; Blair agonizes over encounters with Nate; Aaron moons over Blair; singing superstar Flow falls, predictably, for Serena; and Jenny is grounded after some candid shots accidentally end up on the Internet.

But there's a serious side as well, as several develop their talents - Dan's poetry thrives on cynicism, Vanessa continues her passion for film-making, and Blair finds that she has a flare for fiction as she dives into a screenplay. While some of the group begin to fulfill their dreams, others continue to drift along in the shallows. It all ends in New Year fireworks, and of course in tantalising messages from Gossip Girl, whoever she may be.
