Her job is to deal with transgressions in the Aestas coven, which is led by Sylvia Page. Katherine is also responsible for bringing in unsettled witches (unaware of their own magic) before it causes catastrophe. She was once herself unsettled. Noctis, the most powerful coven in the world, sends its representatives to check up on the practices of other covens. They send handsome Noctis heir Silas Khatri, to Aestas. He threatens intervention. Katherine hates him - at first. Then comes a magical explosion, and deaths. She works with Silas to investigate, and they grow closer. The action and betrayals escalate. Katherine does figure out what's been happening, but almost too late, as unsettled magic erupts, with heavy collateral damage worldwide. Fortunately, both Katherine and Silas have friends. They do save the day, but the episode ends on a cliffhanger as they come into conflict once more.
