He tells her 'You do the egghead stuff and I do the Neanderthal stuff.' They run a Taskforce of apex predators to put 'some national security threat's head on a spike.' Into the Gray Zone is the nineteenth (!) in this deservedly popular series. It opens with a Chinese operative, Mr. Chin, commanding Sikh activists led by Kamal Singh. What is their target? Seems that Mr. Chin has had Kamal hacking a mining organization and now sends him to help kidnap Indian billionaire Thakkar. Meanwhile Taskforce is sent to Goa, India, on a site survey as a favor for the CIA, who will be meeting the Indian intelligence service there - about China's rare earth elements. They foil the Sikhs' attack. Mr. Chin initiates Plan B at the Taj Mahal and then at a pre-wedding party in New Delhi for Thakkar's daughter. Blood flows and hostages are taken, including one very important to Taskforce team member Knuckles. Of course, readers know the good guys will ultimately prevail but, as always, it's high entertainment watching Taylor getting them there!
