John Grisham has been THE name in legal thrillers since he wrote The Firm. The leads in that one, Mitch and Abby McDeere, fled the country after exposing the criminal enterprises of Memphis law firm Bendini, Lambert & Locke. Now, fans meet them again in The Exchange.

Fast forward fifteen years. Mitch is in New York, a partner in a renowned international law firm. He and Abby have twin sons and Abby is a senior editor at a press specializing in cookbooks. As the story opens, a pro bono death row case takes Mitch briefly back to Tennessee, where he had not planned to return. Then, he is sent to Italy.

In Rome, senior partner Luca asks Mitch to take over a case for a valuable client, a Turkish construction company, and to head to Libya along with his daughter Giovanna (also a lawyer with the firm). In Tripoli, Mitch is incapacitated with severe food poisoning. Giovanna goes on alone and is soon in serious trouble.

Matters escalate and the McDeeres are endangered, but Mitch and Abby are both bravely determined to do whatever it takes to bring Giovanna home. Along the way, Mitch parts company with another big law firm. The Exchange: After The Firm is not to be missed by Grisham fans.
