Wonton Terror follows Murder Lo Mein as the fourth in Vivien Chien's Noodle Shop cozy mystery series. Series lead is Lana Lee, whose parents own the H-Lee Noodle shop in Cleveland, Ohio. Lana met police detective Adam Trudeau last time and he's now her boyfriend. She is also now the restaurant manager.

This episode opens on preparations for 'the first Asian Night Market of the summer' as Lana and chef Peter Huang set up. Unfortunately, the season starts with a bang when a food truck bandwagon blows up! It was Wonton on Wheels, owned by Sandra and Ronnie Chow, friends of Lana's parents, though distant lately.

Ronnie Chow dies in the blast - an accident or murder? Of course, Lana and her friend Megan start digging - even more urgently after murder is confirmed and Sandra Chow comes under suspicion. Then arson strikes at the next Night Market - does someone not like the questions Lana's been asking?

The mystery is a puzzler, but what I enjoyed most about this book was the food that was displayed, sold and ingested - yumm! And don't miss the excerpt at the back of this book of the next episode, Egg Drop Dead.
