Murder Lo Mein is the third of the Noodle Shop mysteries – a delightful cozy series that has already introduced the main character, Lana Lee, whose parents own the H-Lee Noodle shop in Cleveland, Ohio.

Lana and an employee of the Ho-Lee Noodle Shop are excited about Cleveland's Best Noodles Contest. Determined to win, they plot and plan to take the prize – which would please them both very much ... and, also be good advertising for the Noodle Shop.

Unfortunately one of the judges, Norman Pan, is found dead, face-down in a bowl of lo mein. No one liked the cantankerous man, but the police must determine who might have killed him. Intimidating fortune cookies have been making the rounds. Everyone hopes they never receive one.

After an unhappy hookup with a man, Lana looks back and has no idea why she thought he was the one for her. Because of the murder, she meets a police detective, Adam Trudeau, who seems to have his eye on her. She swears to herself that she will take it slow with the law.

More fortune cookies are terrorizing the Chinese community as well as more dead bodies. Adam is worried that they have a serial killer on their hands. If you can get past the demise of some of the characters, this is a fun book. The survivors are all worth meeting.
