A new Posadas County Mystery. This series by Steven F. Havill started with Heartshot. And after about twenty-five years of book after book, Easy Errors makes its appearance. Bill Gastner is undersheriff, with Bobby Torrez as the very new sheriff. They both appear at the scene of a horrific wreck where Torrez's brother and sister are found dead. The SUV the two had been in (with another teenager) had been clocked at about a hundred miles an hour. The two men put their heads together to work out why these kids were speeding so recklessly. Possibly Torrez's brother had an asthma attack and it was a bad one, making it necessary to get the boy to a hospital as quickly as possible. But when another teen is found dead, they question their conclusions. Also, a rancher's water tank and windmill are found peppered with bullet holes! Could there be any connection? While Torrez works off his grief by immersing himself in these cases, he comes closer and closer to a stunning solution. The plot of Easy Errors is one in which the reader can very easily try to solve the puzzles the author presents. Havill also presents the country he clearly loves, inspiring readers to add seeing this beautiful New Mexico landscape to their bucket list.
