When Sherri Crichton came across a new manuscript of her husband's , she was 'immediately captivated'. She felt Dragon's Teeth had Michael's voice, his love of history and science, all dynamically woven into an epic tale. This had to 'be a forerunner to his other dinosaur story, Jurassic Park.'

Good book. Wonderful read. Dragon Teeth is full of adventure, a tale that sees a feud between two well-known paleontologists and the lengths man will go to best another. The loyalty of a young student is unquestionable. His tale of bravery, and his dedication to following through on his word, proves thrilling.

Crichton weaves names of men and women from the Wild West into his story line. This book opens in 1876, relating the years following the Civil War when the conflict between the two paleontologists is referred to as the Bone Wars. A student at Yale, William Johnson, a real-life character, recorded in his notebook his trials from the time he signed on to travel to Montana with one of the two learned men who shared the same goal – to find ancient bones and bring them back East.

Feeling that the student is a spy, one of the learned men of science abandons Johnson on their arduous journey. One man's trash is another man's treasure, so it is said. Johnson joins the other paleontologist and performs a near miracle. We also learn that not everyone is as they seem. Johnson proves to be disappointed in some of those he meets – including a young woman he has taken a shine to.

Dragon Teeth is fit to join Crichton's other groundbreaking novels. His books have sold more than 200 million copies worldwide, have been translated into thirty-eight languages, and have provided the basis for fifteen feature films! He shall be missed. But his novels will always be enjoyed. What a legacy!
