Song of the Lion is the third of bestselling author Anne Hillerman's crime novels. Hillerman, with her books, is able to continue her father Tony Hillerman's stories about the Navajo characters Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito, depicting the magnificent scenery and culture around which this series lives and breathes.

A car bomb explodes in a school parking lot. It is discovered that the young man who died in that car was a lawyer for a gazillion dollar development planned at the Grand Canyon! There are many who deplore this idea. Brushing aside the possibility that the car bomb was eco-terrorism, Bernadette and Chee look deeper into the bombing. They approach Leaphorn, who is now retired, for help in cracking a cold case from many years ago, believing there might just be a connection with the recent crime.

Trying to prevent bad blood between two native tribes, the three work to discover who is fanning the flames of a crime committed many years ago. Meticulously plotted, well-written, Song of the Lion is a wonderful read and a chance to reacquaint yourself with old friends.
