When someone jumps bail, Stephanie Plum, the sassy bounty hunter created by Janet Evanovich, swoops in to make sure the miscreant actually has his day in court. Whether he wants to or not is, of course, a moot point!

Stephanie's latest assignment expands when a cadaver is found in the back of a freezer truck loaded with ice cream. The dead man, who has been covered with chocolate and chopped nuts, has created some extremely negative publicity for a local ice cream company whose signature frozen treat bears a striking resemblance to a frozen corpse.

Agreeing to go undercover to assist a friend in investigating the crime and ascertain who might be attempting to destroy the ice cream manufacturer's reputation, Stephanie is about to learn more than she really wants to about producing ice cream.

A couple more homicides, plus an attempt on Stephanie's own life, underscore the fact that someone is playing hard ball and is deadly serious about freezing Bogart Ice Cream out of business.

Juggling two boyfriends and trying to keep her zany assistant, Lulu, out of trouble while chasing bail jumpers and killers keeps Stephanie more than busy. This makes for plenty of action on a number of fronts, which means this is a novel that is hard to set aside. You'll love the humor and cast of eccentric characters Evanovich creates to supplement her main character's likable personality.

The only downside to this latest installment of this popular series is that the journey is far more enjoyable than actually arriving at the destination. When you pick up this novel you can expect a very entertaining read. If the ending is a bit of a stretch and not as well designed as in some suspense stories, so be it!
