The hawk featured in this story begins to doubt himself when he discovers that he seems to be no match for a cute little bunny. Seeing the bunny as a possible meal, the hawk sets his sights on snatching the rabbit from the garden where he is sitting.

On each attempt to catch the bunny, the hawk comes up with a vegetable rather than the little animal. What gives? Is he a regular hawk or a 'vegetable hawk'? As his nest fills up with veggies the poor hawk isn't sure any more what he is. The story's ending leaves this question still up in the air, although the bunny seems to have gotten the better of his adversary.

A humorous picture book with some amusing illustrations, this is a story that young readers will probably find much to their liking. This would also be a manageable book for intermediate readers who would rather tackle the reading chores themselves.
