A former news broadcaster, Libby Fischer Hellmann turned to writing gritty crime fiction. As of now, she has written twenty short stories and twelve novels. Jump Cut is her fifth Ellie Foreman mystery - she is also the author of the Georgia Davis PI Series. Hellmann describes this one as a cross between Desperate Housewives and 24.

After ten years absent from the publishing scene, Ellie Foreman is welcomed back as she deals with espionage and murder. She also faces suspicion that threatens what she holds dear.

Hired to produce a short video profile of an aviation company, Ellie is upset when she is abruptly told to cancel the project. She discovers she is under surveillance when she learns that a man connected to the video is dead and that he was a Chinese spy! Ellie and her boyfriend look for answers to the murder as well as the reason for the termination of the video, unaware what a dangerous position they are in.

Jump Cut is tightly written with a good story line. I do like the characters. What's not to like? I hope the author will produce more Ellie Foreman mysteries.
