Tommy can't sit still. From morning to night he is a human dynamo and his family can't keep up. He bounces around the house, hurdles the furniture, and drives his sister crazy.

Finally the family takes turns trying to make Tommy tired by engaging in various activities. But the plan doesn't work. Swimming, playing on a trampoline, working out on a treadmill, and playing tennis only make everyone else tired.

Then, although he is reluctant to try it, the little boy is dragged off to dance class. Once he gets over his initial negative reaction, Tommy realizes this is an activity he can really get into and he's very good at it too.

Written by Broadway dancer Tim Federle, this picture book illustrates how one very energetic child finds his place in the spotlight. It also underscores the idea that there are not activities for just one sex or another. Both little boys and girls can benefit from and enjoy an activity like baseball, horseback riding and, in this instance, dancing.
