As they prepare to bury a member of their small community, the good citizens of Redemption, Arizona, hear an explosion that sends black smoke up into the blue sky. A plane has crashed.

Not far from the scene of the downed plane, three men hear the impact and see the smoke. Sent to meet the plane and retrieve the special package it was transporting, they know they now have a major problem.

As the local sheriff heads towards the crash site to see if there are any survivors, he encounters a dazed man, apparently from the site, who doesn't know who he is or how he got here. The only clue to who he is a book he is carrying inscribed to Solomon Creed. What Solomon does recall is that he is in the area to save a man he has never met: the man who was being buried!

Although this is all a bit confusing, it will become clearer as Solomon goes about uncovering his own identity, but to do so he'll have to delve into the secrets of the folks of Redemption. And, as you might expect, there are plenty of people who are more than willing to stop him.

The first of a new series featuring Solomon Creed, The Searcher exhibits why Simon Toyne's books have been compared to those written by Lee Child and Stephen King. His Sanctus trilogy was a smashing success and he is building on what is already a stellar reputation.
