The protagonist of this novel is Maggie Dupres, a young woman who is between jobs in Silicon Valley and spends time at a used bookstore owned by her landlord. A former English major and book lover, Maggie eventually ends up working at, and then becoming a partner in a used bookstore in Mountain View, California.

In its mildest form there is an element of mystery incorporated in this novel as Maggie attempts to discover who the two people might be who have employed the pages of a copy of Lady Chatterley's Lover as the means of communicating through a series of love letters. The assumption is that this might have happened years ago but perhaps not.

As you read this intriguing novel you'll meet the limited staff of The Dragonfly as well as the shop's eclectic collection of customers. Since Maggie is the focal point here, obviously her relationships with friends and casual lovers are at the center of the story. This is a young woman who is still seeking a clear direction in her own life and is presented with some intriguing options as the story develops.

Not only does this novel flow smoothly but its characters demand your attention because they really make you care about their individual predicaments.

The Chatterley element to the plot not only adds a bit of mystery but it also enables the author to add some unexpected twists as the story winds down. (Note: the title is from the Lawrence classic.)

All in all, this is a very satisfying read. If you are a bibliophile who loves to haunt new and used book stores this book will be right up your alley!
