ith the kids back in school and their parents both working, poor Poppy is lonely. Then the dog's family decides to get Poppy a companion to keep him company, but no one asks the pirate dog who he wants for a best buddy.

arrives, Poppy is not too thrilled to discover that it is a furry, cute kitten, Everyone, except Poppy, thinks the new arrival is just adorable.

his chapter book for young readers five and older follows the events that occur when Poppy and George (the kitten) go through the process of discovering that a cat and dog can live together as friends. At first it is a little challenging but, of course, it all works out in the end.

he second book in the
Poppy
series, this adventure is ideal for children who are becoming more confident in their reading skills and would like something with short chapters and a better storyline.
