This informative paperback takes the reader behind the scenes at a marine aquarium to show how the fish and other creatures are cared for. The author also offers information about the various positions such a facility offers.

These jobs include transporting fish from the ocean to the holding tanks, feeding them, and caring for sick or injured mammals and fish.

The book also features activities for Creative Minds. There's a section on aquarium jobs and what they entail (aviculturist, ichthyologist and aquarist), a matching game, and a listing of Animal Fun Facts.

For example, did you know that sea otters have the thickest fur of all animals, or that when they are born, beluga whales are dark gray. As they mature, their color lightens until, as adults, the whales are completely white.

This is the ideal book to use with a child or an entire class before making a trip to any marine aquarium, since it offers an excellent overview of the operation and staffing.
