The Girl and the Bicycle
Simon & Schuster, 2014 (2014)

his picture book without words provides the opportunity for the reader to supply the narrative as he or she looks at the illustrations on each page. You'll see a little girl gazing at a bicycle in a shop window. She doesn't have enough money to purchase the bike, so she embarks on a campaign to raise the money.
he twist in the story comes at the end when the girl goes back to purchase the bike. It isn't there now. What will she do with the money she has earned? I won't ruin the story by telling you what comes next.
hat's nice about this book is that it engages the child and allows the individual to interpret the pictures as he/she sees fit. This is a great way to let the youngster's imagination have free reign and create a young storyteller.
