If you have every played the I-spy game, this clever book version of the classic game is a lot of fun and will teach a whole new generation how to engage in this timeless contest of observation.

The picture book features a spy hole, and clues are provided to help the young reader guess what kind of bird is perched on the following page. 'I spy with my little eye something with purple feathers and small wings. I like to drink nectar from flowers.'

Did you guess a hummingbird? Good! The other birds included in the book are a condor, parrot, pelican, eagle, peacock and owl. The illustrations are quite large and colorful, plus the youngster will learn a little something about each bird.

After reading the book a few times, try playing the game with your child at home or in the backyard. If you need a little help explaining how the game is played, check online How to Play I Spy at eHow.
