Look, Bear, I found the gold.
' Sure enough, in the trunk of the tree was a hole with golden honey in it. Bear collected the honey and he and Little Bird went home. They had honey cakes for dinner and then went out for a quiet, nighttime boat ride.
lthough one dimensional, Frank Asch's colorful illustrations will appeal to young children three and older. The story is rather simple too, but that's not to say young readers won't enjoy it. Sometimes the simple and most direct stories are the most effective.
