Judy Moody and her little brother Stink are excited. There's a big storm and school has been canceled for several days! But the storm is soon upgraded to a hurricane.

First, there's a loud sound on the roof. Judy fears that the noise is a ghost and Stink thinks that aliens have crash landed. Mom and Dad check, and it is just Stink's Toad Pee Club tent that blew up onto the roof. What next?

Stink answers a call from Grandma Lou and informs his family that Grandma is on her way to stay with them because the authorities said 'She had to leave or they were going to evaporate her!' Grandma Lou isn't the only one being evaporated, er, evacuated to Judy and Stink's house. She arrives with her dog, a ferret, and a snake.

With a full house of both people and animals what could be worse than the power going out? What are Judy and Stink to do with no television and no video games? Grandma Lou comes to the rescue and the family gets cozy and each person shares a story.

Readers aged six to nine years old will enjoy the delightful color illustrations by Peter H. Reynolds. The book jacket even has glow in the dark features! At the end of the story Judy and Stink offer a list of fun stuff to do in the event of your own big bad blackout. Happy reading!
