T
his book combines simple animal recognition with counting up to five. Maisy serves as the guide as she introduces a single, stripy tiger, two tortoises, three butterflies, four yellow fish, and five snails. Besides illustrations of each of the critters, you'll find the individual numbers displayed using bright colors.
T
he beauty of this book is that as the child gets older it will still be a favorite because it can be used for counting practice and word recognition. In fact, for some youngsters this could well be a transition book used to teach basic reading skills.
T
he Maisy concept series also includes titles on colors and letters. The book's sturdy construction will stand up to months of constant use and wear.
