eet the Croods. There's mom and dad (Grug and Ugga) plus their three children (Thunk, Sandy and Eep) and Grug's mother-in-law, Gran. Since the Croods are cave dwellers, they haven't ventured very far away from their rocky, damp, cold home. But that's all about to change.
he family only leaves the safety of their cave to find food. That all changes when an earthquake destroys the Crood cave and Grug must seek a new residence.
heir experiences include a brush with a very large fish, discovering the wonders of fire, enjoying some new menu items, and meeting another cave person. The biggest challenge the family faces, though, is dealing with a gaping rift or chasm that blocks their way. How they overcome this obstacle will tax all of the family's ingenuity.
f your child enjoyed the DreamWorks movie featuring these cave dwellers, you'll find this inexpensive paperback a nice follow up. But before you decide to read this book, air it out a bit. The smell of printers' ink is rather overpowering and not very pleasant!
