Life has not been good for aging rock royalty. Freddie Finger is the last in a series of killings. Freddie's daughter Vivan Younger, a movie actress, hires astrologer detective David Lowell to help catch her father's killer. Since Freddie was not well liked in the industry, there is an abundance of suspects.

They include his numerous ex-wives, his band members (because Freddie's solo career threatened the future of the band), a greedy band manager, or possibly someone from his past whom Freddie alienated. Master hacker and psychic Mort, his assistant Sarah, and his driver/bodyguard work to solve the mystery of who silenced Freddie's musical career.

Mort delves into the birth charts of the suspects – pretty interesting stuff – and comes up with an unusual ending. Sure surprised me.
