Former minister Jack Hagler and his wife Liz, who illustrates children's books, put their heads together to create this picture book that hopefully will make it easier for children seven and older to grasp some of the big ideas found in the Bible.

Using a cartoon format, humor, and a few interactive elements, the Haglers use a young narrator named Patrick to guide the reader through this 96 page
volume. 'There sure are a lot of words in this book. Why would anyone read it?' muses Patrick as he pages through the Bible in his bedroom.

'Good question!' booms a voice out of nowhere. Suddenly the boy is yanked off his bed by a shepherd's staff and his adventure begins. Who did the yanking? Moses!

'Moses is the name, and you've been hooked into Genesis, the first book of the Bible!'

After visiting the Garden of Eden and meeting Adam, Eve, and some other folks found in Genesis, Patrick and his guide move on to Exodus and the other books of the Bible.

Divided into chapters, this book can be read a few pages at a time or in larger segments. The authors also created a website with more interactive material and a three minute video that offers an overview of the work.

Whether for home use or for a Bible Study class for children, this well illustrated book will hopefully make children embrace learning more about the Old and New Testaments. The authors have created an attractive package that should pique the young reader's curiosity and interest.
