he Evensong boarding school in the wilderness of Maine seems like the ideal place for Teddy. The fourteen year old has twice survived mass killings. As the lone survivor of not one but two of these tragedies, the traumatized boy needs a lot of help.
hat is Evensong's specialty. In this sanctuary for the young victims of violent crime, the school's staff work to help their students cope and eventually return to a society they view as hostile and exceedingly dangerous. Thus, this was the school that Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli worked diligently to get Teddy into.
ow that he is there, Jane isn't so sure Teddy is as safe as she thought he would be. Blood spattered dolls hanging from a tree on campus first alert Jane to a potential problem. Then she discovers that two other students have a past eerily similar to Teddy's. Convinced there's a dangerous, twisted predator stalking the students, Jane and her trusted partner, medical examiner Maura Isles, must do everything in their power to keep not only Teddy but also the other orphans safe from an unseen terror that lurks far too close to the youths.
Rizzoli & Isles
series has spun off a popular television series that has viewers buzzing. If you haven't read any of the novels yet, it is about time you did and this is an excellent place to start. You'll find the characters intriguing and the fast paced action riveting. Of course, the books are actually much better than the TV adaptations!
