For a young child the simplest books are often the best. This board book would fall into that category since it features simple illustrations and very limited text.

A dozen common animals, such as a cat, cow, bear, dog, lion and pig, are pictured on backgrounds featuring very bright, arresting colors. Accompanying each animal is the sound it makes and nothing more. This may seem like you aren't getting much for your money but that's the beauty of this book.

Not only will your child probably quickly tell you which animal is on the page but the toddler will probably be able to supply the correct critter sound as well.

This is the type of book that I would suspect a youngster would pick up and page through on his own because it is easy to comprehend. With thick, easy to turn pages, Noises can be managed by little fingers and we all know that making animal sounds is a lot of fun. You don't need mom or dad around to enjoy this book.
