'Minerva von Vyle was a mischievous child
who was coddled and spoiled and allowed to run wild.
She was peevish and pushy and got her own way
by throwing hysterical fits every day.
'

This may not appear to be a character you'd want to read about, but Minerva meets her match when 'the fifty-third nanny' arrives in the household.

Stating that the Order of Nannies all agree that Minerva is 'the single most difficult child to control', the child's new nanny crowns her 'the Unruly Queen'.

At first nasty Minerva is delighted, until she discovers that she'll rule from a place 'of which people don't speak – it's a dark distant place known as Petulant Peak'.

And better still, the spoiled child will have to reside on a high mountain and share a dark, dingy cave with loathsome and loud creatures. She can throw tantrums, throw her food on the floor and smash things to bits and nobody's going to care at all.

With a bit of a smirk, the nanny tells the unruly child, 'You can be your true self up on that hill'.

Not too thrilled about being dubbed The Unruly Queen, the willful Minerva does a complete about face. Now she is suddenly the picture of decorum and becomes a well-behaved little girl. The only question is – how long will this last?

To find out if Minerva can give up her new crown that easily or if she will revert to her former behavior, you'll have to read this funny story. Again, that old adage of be careful what you wish for holds true, especially in the case of Minerva von Vyle!
