It is just days before Santa's annual nighttime toy run on December 24th and, alas, he realizes that this year the journey may not unfold as planned. Not only is his sleigh in poor condition but the reindeer are totally out of shape also. Too much pizza and popcorn during the summer and not enough exercise has taken its toll and the reindeer are in no shape to pull anything, let alone a heavy bag of toys.

Pondering how he can deliver the children's gifts this year, Santa discovers one of his elves has come up with the perfect, high tech solution. A new red jet with an extra-wide seat will replace Santa's traditional mode of transportation.

But landing a jet on a snowy roof top is not an easy task and when a blanket of fog destroys visibility, Pilot Claus is in very big trouble. Now what?

Fortunately an SOS to his faithful, albeit fat, four legged friends does the trick. With the newly repaired sleigh, the reindeer arrive to help salvage the night and, led by Rudolph's bright nose, the journey continues.

Youngsters three and older will undoubtedly enjoy this holiday tale of Santa's determination to deliver gifts no matter what the obstacles placed in his way might be. Also, I liked the subtle message that, in a fix, new technology may not always be the best solution to a problem. Sometimes the old way turns out to be the best way!
