San Diego Homicide Detective Sami Rizzo hung up her badge after a harrowing encounter with a serial killer. Now, two years later, she wants to be back on the force.

Her live-in boyfriend, Al Diaz, is called to South America. His sister has been in a terrible auto accident and is not expected to live. Al leaves immediately to be at his sister's bedside, which makes Sami uneasy. She had been married to the poster boy for cheating. Can she trust Al?

This stellar novel introduces us to a mad scientist or rather a doctor obsessed with perfecting a certain heart operation. He strives to reach his goal, which will make him recognized worldwide. But he needs live human bodies, in order to conduct his experiments and receive a grant to allow him to continue his good work. Unfortunately, this necessitates kidnapping the live bodies and subjecting them to indescribable torture. He believes Aristotle's quote that 'The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.'

Resuscitation is a thrilling mystery that runs hand-in-hand with suspense. The plot line is clear and intense. The necessary medical information makes my blood run cold, but is intriguing nonetheless. Sami and Al manage to run their private lives and still give all their attention to catching the serial killer. Resuscitation is a very good read. Would I mislead you? Never!
