Susan Callisto, racing toward thirty, runs her own consulting firm catering to entry level candidates for political office. A new client and a late entry, Charles Renfrew, asks for her assistance in running for mayor.

Reeling from the departure of her long-term boyfriend, Susan takes on the task. Renfrew's company is under scrutiny for possibly dumping toxic waste. Before she totally commits herself to his race, she decides to investigate for herself whether the information she was given about the toxic waste is true or not.

Things get cloudy when Renfrew's assistant is found dead. After all, what is a murder mystery without murder? But this goes too far when other bodies surface, Renfrew's one of them.

A Crack in Everything proves to be tightly written with great action. Readers get a brief peek at the behind-the-scenes of a political campaign. Violence seems to be stalking Susan but this has its good side when her ex, a Massachusetts police lieutenant, becomes involved.

Murder, violence, good writing, interesting characters, political intrigue, toxic waste and a possible burgeoning love story. What more can a reader ask?
