At some point in time, everyone studies at least one of William Shakespeare's works or goes to see one of his plays. Shakespeare was a wonderful writer, but his body of work is not always easily accessible to today's audiences.

That is where this handy little reference book, I Used to Know That: Shakespeare, comes in. Author Liz Evers covers every single Shakespearean play (including those he wrote in collaboration with other playwrights), giving a brief yet thorough synopsis of each. Aside from Shakespeare's theatrical works, Evers also includes a biography and briefly discusses Shakespeare's poetry.

However, the most fun chapters were those that dealt with Shakespeare's contribution to the English language, including words, phrases, and quotes made famous through his work. For lovers of language and Shakespeare, I Used to Know That: Shakespeare is a great reference to keep on hand.
