It'll look good on her college applications since she plans to be a doctor and her current crush (Aaron) is a football player. As student trainer, at least she can be close to him even if he never notices her. Kate suspects the football coach of giving some of his players steroids. But before she can investigate, one of the players kicks off at a party. Kate knows Mike is dead, but does what she can until the EMTs arrives. Suddenly Mike sits up and she's being congratulated for pulling him through. Every time Kate sees Mike he tries to bite her, so she suspects the EMTs were wrong. Mike is dead. The vials Kate saw in the coach's office didn't contain steroids. Whatever is in them is much worse. It's turning the football team into mindless, flesh-eating zombies. As the infection spreads, Kate must come up with a cure, before the entire school is affected. This fast-moving comedy is a quick read and a good way to spend a summer afternoon.
