'Hoist anchor, me hearties. Raise high the flag. We sail till I be the best.' With that cry Bad Bart, the biggest, burliest pirate on the Atlantic sets sail to lay claim to the title of the world's best buccaneer.

Meanwhile, out in the Pacific, Mean Mo is off on a similar adventure to lay claim to the title of 'maddest, mightiest pirate in the world'. When they meet, as they do in this story, one of them is going to have to give way. Well, at least that's the theory. Right? Not necessarily!

When these two pirates of the opposite genders do meet, a royal battle ensues. First there's an exchange of insults (Grog swiller! Sea skunk! Scurvy dog! Bilge rat!) followed by a series of competitions, such as a swimming race in the shark invested waters and the cannonball toss on the beach.

Who wins? Neither contestant. It is a tie! Next, it is a round of mast climbing and arm wrestling. It is still a deadlock! Now desperate means must be employed, so the two pirates agree to count the items in their treasure chests. And, unbelievably, the final tally still leaves them in a dead heat!

Finally the two adversaries come up with a clever solution to their dilemma. Aarrrr, me maties, you don't think I'll spill the beans now do you? Of course not! I'd rather walk the plank or be tied to the yardarm!

You'll just have to read this humorous story for youngsters four years of age and up to see what the final solution is. But, rest assured, it is the perfect way of resolving this problem.
