With seven new chicks chirping loudly for food, poor Mama Bird has her work cut out for her. 'Feed us! Feed us!' the little ones cry. 'Of course my precious cuddle fluffs,' coos Mama Bird.

Off she flies for some tasty crickets but it's not enough. In one gulp the meal vanishes and again it's, 'Feed us! Feed us!' Off she goes again to find some more tasty tidbits for her little ones, but their hunger seemingly just can't be satiated.

Fortunately, one of the babies falls asleep after each meal so the number of mouths to feed is slowly being diminished. Finally, Mama Bird drops a wiggly worm into the mouth of the last baby bird still awake. Totally exhausted, she lays back on the tree limb for a nap herself when she hears, 'Peep! Peep! Peep!'

'Oh, no, not this time,' Mama chirps ... 'It's Daddy's turn to fly.'

A reverse counting book, this story will amuse children three years of age and older who can perhaps appreciate the little birds' insatiable cries of 'Feed us! Feed us!' Mom and Dad might also get a chuckle out of all the effort that goes into keeping the baby birds happy!
