Total confusion reigns in this humorous holiday tale about a little owl who is mistaken for Santa Claus. Wearing a festive red hat and pulling a sled with his stuffed toy in it, Baby Owl has been out playing in the forest. It is Christmas Eve and as the fluffy bird heads home, a little rabbit confronts him.

'"Santa!" called Baby Hare. "It's you!"
"I'm not Santa!" said Baby Owl. "Don't be so silly!"
"But you are Santa!" insisted Baby Hare. "You're wearing a red hat with fur on it. Santa wears a hat like that.

The debate ebbs back and forth for a while before Baby Owl gives in to stop Baby Hare's tears. 'Oh, all right!' cried Baby Owl. 'I'm Santa! Okay? Ho, ho, ho! Just stop crying, please!'

Turning off the water works and upon taking a closer look, Little Hare now changes his mind. 'You're not Santa!' he says. Now the whole argument begins anew and pretty soon both youngsters are in tears.

Fortunately, the real Santa suddenly appears to assuage the disgruntled owl and bunny. 'Now, come and give me a hug and let's have no more of this crying,' laughs Santa.

Children two years of age and older will delight in the silly antics of these two woodland creatures who let a case of mistaken identity almost ruin their Christmas Eve. Not exactly your typical holiday picture book, "I'm Not Santa!" is guaranteed to put a smile on your little Christmas elf's face!
