Fans of true crime absolutely must pick up Colin and Damon Wilson's Evil: Sping-Tingling True Stories of Murder and Mayhem. Broken down into short sections covering details of each case, this intriguing but slightly disturbing book is highly readable.

The Wilsons cover the gamut of murders from historical political murder plots to modern day serial killers to unsolved cases. Some of the cases covered are well-known, such as those of The Unabomber and The Manson Family, while others are more obscure, such as The Brooklyn Vampire (highly sick and disturbing) and The Colorado Cannibal (the one that really sent shivers down my spine).

Though a softcover, Evil is the size of a coffee table book and would make a good one as it is easy to pick up and read one or two sections quickly while looking at the pictures. However, I do not recommend leaving it lying around when children (or those easily offended) are present because these stories are truly horrifying.
