Nineteen-year-old Kelly Ray is a recovering heroin addict. She's made bad choices in her short life. Choices that took away her future career, almost killed her baby sister, and left her without any family except her Aunt Kit. Kit, a nationally known journalist, left her life in Washington, D.C. to come home to Dakota, Minnesota, and take care of Kelly. Kit now hosts a top-rated national talk radio show called Kit Chat.

Kelly attends AA meetings, works as an assistant to her aunt, and lives her life day by day. When Kelly meets Prince Tomas, soon to be King of Lakverian, he is in town for a peace conference. Her first thought is what an incredible interview he'd make for her aunt's talk show. All she has to do is steal him away from his bodyguards. Her bait is superstar singer Simone Sanchez.

Tomas' chance encounter with Kelly eventually leads him to a night on the town without his minders. Her plan sails along right on track. He agrees to the interview. What Kelly doesn't plan is the magical attraction that flares between them as they hide in plain sight while waiting for the radio studio to open the following morning.

The future freedom of a war torn country provides the high stakes needed to drive One Night. Although the fairy tale plot does requires some suspension of disbelief, Kelly Ray's strong voice, and the sharp supporting characters, keep the reader turning pages.
