I still consider myself a Californian, although I lived in Denver, Colorado for fifteen years and have been in Virginia, near Washington DC, for fifteen more. I have a degree in English and taught high school and middle school for twelve years. I read a lot and participate in two book clubs.
I prefer fiction, but have loved some recent nonfiction as well, and have read and enjoyed mainstream fiction as well as science fiction, mysteries, regency romances, and wildly improbable, but highly enjoyable books by such authors as Carl Hiaason, Tom Holt, and Terry Pratchett.
